South Pierce County Ride

September 20, 2008 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Bike

Weather: almost 80, pretty calm

Comments:
Since my legs felt like garbage and my R achilles/calf the same, I biked today.

This morning I slept in the latest I have all year: 1030! Yikes! It seems like I'm finally back to "normal" sleep: where I like to sleep in and I wake up tired. This doesn't sound like a good thing, and the timing isn't great, since I need to start getting my ass outta bed early for the 2nd internship starting next week.

Pretty much did nothing 'til 2, then I lifted and did circuits, then milled around a bit prepping for the ride. Just before 4, I took off.

For the first hour, south on 35 to CTY E, then to 35 back into Prescott, I listened to NPR and "All Things Considered". I can't believe how much I like listening to that while I bike. En route to Prescott about a million motorcycles passed me, and when I rolled into town there was a billion parked there. I'm guessing it's the annual "last ride of summer" up and down the Ole Miss.

I stopped to rest a bit and get a drink, amidst all the leather-bound bikers and (surprisingly hot) biker chicks. I thought about how out-of-place I looked with my Nike Fit clothes and helmet.

Just as I was pedaling away, I said to myself outloud, "Ahhhh! *BIKER!* I'm an idiot". I laughed my ass off.

The bike home was decent: up the hill out of town, then taking F north, then FF back to 35 on the south side of town. Really nice ride today!

Checked HR a couple times and I was around 140 for most the ride, which is pretty on-par with running. Averaged about 19.5 for the ride, with a max of 42.7!!
