Perry 5k

Weather: high 30s, rain, non-ideal

Comments:
5k turkey trot in perry. Didnt know what to expect today, whether I would still be in shape from XC or if I had fallen off my peak. Pretty sure it was closer to the latter than the former. Anyways, I thought I could run anywhere from 15:20-16:00, so 15:50 in shitty conditions is decent. Some of the corners were like steeple water pits.

Anyways, splits 5:00, 5:12, 5:01, :38. 2nd mile was uphill and last 1000 meters was slight downhill. This race was a lot more competitve last year, so I was surprised when I moved into 2nd a mile in. Eventually dropped to 5th just because I wasn't really motivated: the weather was shitty, my my clothing was soaked and heavy, and we arrived 15 minutes prior to the gun, so I had about a 400 worth of jogging and some strides for warmup. Didnt get much of a cooldown in either.

In any case, this is at least a good start to track training, since the plan is to get faster from here.
