5*(3:00hard, 3:00jog) w/ Ethan. 960, 980, 1000, 990, 1050 meters covered.
CD indoors, stretch, had to jet for Class Officers
Liked this week's workout better than last week since Ethan was on the track with me and not the treadmill. alternated who took the inside each interval. we worked up to hitting 1000s by the 3rd interval. On the last interval, wanted to start the first lap at the same pace as previous intervals and then tighten the pace down each lap, possibly hitting 1100 meters (4:23 mile pace). Succeeded picking up the pace at the beginning of laps 2 and 3, but couldn't come down any quicker for laps 4 and 5. slightly disappointing but oh well.
I always like the cooldown of the workout that is the last hard workout before a race. Even if you think you're getting pumped for a race prior to the last workout day, it really settles in that "Today is Wednesday, and I don't have another hard effort until race-day Saturday," and you can start focusing on the race since only easy runs separate you from toeing the line. I'll get to run faster than I ever have for a 3k, then I'll get to run faster than I ever have for an 800. Stoked? Possibly.
